Thirty minutes. That’s how much time you’ll have with the Resident Evil 2 “1-Shot” Demo when it becomes available for PS4 on January 11! As the name suggests, you can play as much as you like for thirty minutes of in-game time, but once the clock runs out, so does the demo. You’re going to want to maximize your time playing through this unique experience, so we have a handful of tips for players to keep in mind when they sink their teeth into the demo:

Scavenge and Survive
The Raccoon City Police Department (a.k.a. R.P.D.) is littered with useful items, so take a moment in each room to look around and gather up First Aid Sprays, Green Herbs, and ammunition, and make careful use of the storage box. You’re on the clock, but you might miss something useful or important if you try to rush through! Your map is a great way to tell if a room still has something left to be discovered in it, so be sure to check it often. Red rooms still have something left to find in them, and any item you’ve discovered but not picked up will be highlighted, too.
Stay Healthy — And Alive
Death isn’t the end in the demo, as you can continue as many times as you like. You can’t turn back the clock, though, so be sure to keep Leon in top shape! The iconic Green Herb from the Arklay Mountains allows you to recover some health, but it really shines when mixed with a Red Herb to boost its restorative properties. A single Green Herb will still do in a pinch if you’re barely clinging to life. If you happen to come across a First Aid Spray, be sure to keep one on you just in case — it’ll bring you to full health, no mixing required.
Fight or Flight
Zombies are resilient, and just because you put them down doesn’t mean they’ll stay down. While a carefully aimed shot to the head is a good way to stun the shuffling undead and make a quick escape, you may want to try shooting other parts of their bodies for different results. Your end goal is to survive, and sometimes the best course of action is to run away before the situation gets worse! Keep an eye out for wooden boards, too — you can avoid conflict entirely if you blockade certain windows before zombies come crashing in.
Seeing Red
The R.P.D. is a big place, and it can be a little daunting to figure out where you’re going at first. There’s lots to explore in the full game, but to make the most out of the demo, stick to the first floor at the beginning and look for red lights, such as laptop screens, shutter controls, and exit signs to get around. If you’re really lost, press the Options button to check your objectives and take a closer look at your map. Once you meet a certain police Lieutenant, you’ll have what you need to further explore the building. Pehla nasha pehla khumar songs download.
Inspect Everything
Resident Evil 2 has plenty of puzzles to solve and crucial items scattered all over, so be sure to take a moment to take a closer look at the stuff you’ve gathered. The demo clock will stop any time you’re in a menu, so you’re safe to investigate, rotate, and learn more about each object in your possession without worrying about the demo timer ticking down. You just might learn something about what you’re holding on to!
Keep these tips in mind to survive the exhilarating Resident Evil 2 “1-Shot” Demo coming to PS4 on January 11! Regardless of whether or not you complete the demo, you’ll be treated to an exclusive, cinematic trailer that sheds new light on what to expect in the full game.
If you can’t wait to get your hands on this amazing remake of the survival horror classic, you can pre-order the game now at PS Store for a special pre-order theme. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes an extra DLC pack with additional costumes for Leon and Claire a “Samurai Edge” handgun model, and “Original Ver.” Soundtrack swap, while both Deluxe and standard digital pre-orders at PS Store will receive two additional “Samurai Edge” handgun models and an additional theme when the game launches on January 25.
We’ll see you at the R.P.D.!

2019 is already shaping up to be an exciting year with plenty of solid releases. Already we've received fantastic experiences, like Resident Evil 2 Remake, Tom Clancy's The Division 2, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. However, there are far more exciting games just over the horizon.
Many of us own one or two gaming devices and obviously stick to those systems' libraries for the long haul. But if you take a step back and look at the game release calendar as a whole, there are a ton of interesting games and other developments on the way that may tempt you to pick up a system you don't already own.
So what games does the future hold exactly? Let's dive into all the biggest and most exciting games on the way in 2019 and beyond. In the slides ahead you can find a full list of what's coming. You can also see all the latest news on a game by clicking on its name, which will take you its associated game page.
In the meantime, which games are you looking forward to the most this year? Shout your picks in the comments below.
Animal Crossing (2019)
Animal Crossing fans, rejoice! It's finally happening. The Switch is getting an entirely new game built from the ground up. The game was announced after the reveal of Isabelle during the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct presentation in September, which made for quite the bait-and-switch for loyal fans. Slight disappointment and shock was replaced by love and excitement. We wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
Since the reveal, little has been said about Animal Crossing Switch. Next to nothing is known about how the game will play or what new features are being added, but seeing as it is set to launch in 2019, new details are more than likely to come sooner than later.

Astral Chain
If you're eagerly awaiting the release of Bayonetta 3, then know you're not totally left astray. Developer Platinum Games is releasing another action game this year called Astral Chain. Like the studio's previous work, the premise is similarly playful and over-the-top. You play as a police officer a part of a special task force charged fighting against mysterious, alien-like creatures. But you're not without weapons when dealing with this otherworldly threat; you're equipped with a Legion, which is a special techno-organic weapon that assists you both in combat and crime investigations.

Oh the things I yelled out when the Resident Evil 2 Remake dropped a zombie on me from the ceiling. Who puts zombies in the ceiling? I’m also sure I developed an entirely new dimensional plane of swearing at several points. This lovingly-crafted remake perfectly recaptures what made the original great, which is mainly putting you in a small room with too many monsters and not enough bullets; seesawing from tense exploratory poking through dark blood stained corridors one minute, to oh so much screaming and flailing the next.
Resident Evil 2 guide | Best Resident Evil 2 guns |Resident Evil 2 Mr Raccoon locations |Resident Evil 2 Safe codes | Resident Evil 2 locker codes | How to get the Resident Evil 2 shotgun and grenade launcher | Resident Evil 2 Film Roll locations | Resident Evil 2 key locations| Resident Evil 2 medallion locations| How to solve the Resident Evil 2 chess plug puzzle | Find the Resident evil 2 hip pouch locations
What’s good about this modern reincarnation is how it honours all the original’s ideas but builds on it using today's gaming capabilities and vocabulary, taking the essence of the 1996 PS1 era Resident Evil and making it feel like it was always on PS4. Just as in the original this follows rookie cop Leon S Kennedy and motorcycling student Claire Redfield as they get caught up in zombie outbreak and uncover the truth behind the pharmaceutical company, Umbrella, that's responsible for it. The plot, characters and locations are all largely the same, the Remake has just spruced up the looks, camera and gameplay to better suit today’s 4K standards.

The Walking Dead
As you’d hope, the zombies are the real stars here. They moan, they shuffle, they peel: skin sloughing off and cracked bones releasing broken limbs to the floor as flesh stretches and snaps. A few well-placed bullets leave wet, schlepping meat bags that relentlessly drag themselves towards you. It’s beautifully horrific, creating some of the best undead I’ve seen in anything for a while. It captures both the obvious and immediate threat of a ravenous undying corpse, and the sad sight of a broken, roadkill mess of meat dragging itself pitifully towards you; mewing as a useless jaw works for a meal it can never reach. I’ve wasted so much time just watching them scrape around, just to enjoy the spectacle. Or to see just how much damage they can actually take. (If you’re interested it’s possible to have a zombie with no arms and legs that still writhes on the floor trying to reach you.) Other, more dangerous monsters, like the Licker (a predatory, skinless beasts with a lengthy, razor sharp tongue) are just as terrifying but will always play second fiddle to the true stars of the series.
When the undead aren’t jumping out at you, or leaving a trail of themselves as they advance, they add a persistent tension by their unpredictable inability to completely die. Corpses can lie, unmoving for hours, on the floor, all but forgotten until you hear an ‘Uhrrrrrrrrr’ in the dark and the sound of something getting up. It creates a constant unease that bubbles in the background of the quieter sections - long moments of peace that lull you into a false sense of security just long enough to mess you up. Because you’ve got limited supplies - scarce reserves of ammo and healing - it forces you to think carefully about how you deal with threats. For the most part you’ll be balancing careful resource management, jump scares and the tense, unpleasant promise of a new, dark room - all of which can collapse into chaos with one misstep or when the indestructible Tyrant appears, stomping relentlessly after you. All those undead you thought you’d save a bullet on suddenly become obstacles as you panic, and it’s moments like that you really get a sense of just how likely you’d be able to survive an actual zombie apocalypse.
In the first half the atmosphere this creates is wonderfully macabre and jumpy, full of classic Ghost Train-style scares you totally knew were coming as you trundle along its rails. The initial police station is a beautifully crafted area full of blood splattered walls, debris strewn corridors and smashed windows, creating a pensive atmosphere as your narrating torch tells a story with questioning sweeps. Then something moves in the shadows and there’s shooting, yelling and frantic searches for an exit - at times Resident Evil 2 Remake plays like the best season of The Walking Dead we’ve had in a long time.
Key to the door
As you crisscross the game’s various areas repeatedly to solve things and open doors you realise what an intricately designed puzzle box it all is. Rather than opening Door 1 and moving on to Door 2, this is more about discovering Object A exists, and that it opens Cupboard X, which gets you Thing B that, when examined, pops out Key ‘Who the fuck designed this?’ for Door C waaaay back where you found the first thing. This interlocking design loops back and forth across the map, expanding and accessing new areas with each step you make in the right direction. It rarely wears out its welcome either, because everything is so compact and efficiently laid out. You get lost occasionally, scanning the in-game map searching for some clue or corner you’ve missed, but rarely for long and the challenge is always a rewarding one when that light bulb goes off.
The opening intricacy of the Police Station is a peak though. The later areas have a similar sense of design and are great to explore and work out, but lack the scale and finesse by comparison. As you progress, levels decrease in size and complexity, which does help to keep the focus and pace up but also feels like the later stages were curtailed in some way. For example, there are Blue Herbs scattered throughout the entire game that can cure poisoning, which is an effect that literally only happens in one single room. Were there more reasons to have them originally?
As with the original game you’ll need to play through twice to see everything, as completing the game with one character opens up a slightly altered playthrough with the other. You’ll get different weapons, altered puzzles and new cutscenes, as well as skipping or swapping some sections and steps to speed things up. Both Both Leon and Claire have different secondary characters they encounter, with their own playable sections. So there’s enough new stuff and variation to make a replay feel fresh. Plus what you learn from the first time around radically changed your approach and awareness when you go back.
There's about to be a.. boss fight
Get started
12 essential Resident Evil 2 Remake tips to know before you play
In terms of other callbacks honouring the old games the boss fights are still… well, basically a bit shit. The slow, methodical controls that work so well in fostering a sense of manageable vulnerability against zombies become fumblingly sluggish against faster moving enemies and bosses. In those scenario it’s less about vulnerability and more about howling at the screen as your character corners like a Roomba stuck on a rug and fails to dodge a huge swiping claw from off screen. Classic Resident Evil has always been a bit like that though, making these encounters more about taking a couple of goes to get the ‘trick’ you need to win rather than pulling off a slick set of moves. There’s also one encounter involving a swinging shipping container that’s a disaster. It takes place in a tiny area barely bigger than the monster you’re fighting and really highlights the limits of the controls.
But one kink doesn’t kill a classic and it’s interesting to see how much of the old game comes through. Limited movement that leaves you exposed, scant resources and meticulous puzzle solving layers are all mainstays of the original and after the total reinvention of Resident Evil 7’s first person reboot this proves that those ideas still have legs. Now, let’s talk Dino Crisis..
The highly anticipated Resident Evil 2 remake demo is out now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One! It'll give you strictly 30 minutes of horror-infused fun. Yup, only 30 minutes. Sorry folks. But people are completing the section on offer in around 20 minutes, so don't feel like you have to rush too much.
30 minutes doesn't sound too long to survive for though, but you know, there's still plenty of room for dying repeatedly, or to hide in a safe room and hyperventilate after encountering your first zombie, or whatever. The important thing is that you'll only have a half hour to do it all before you're locked out - that's why they call it the '1-Shot Demo'. Once it's over, you'll (theoretically) have to wait until the Resident Evil 2 remake comes out on January 25 to play more.

When is the Resident Evil 2 demo coming out?
The Resident Evil 2 demo will be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One from January 11 to January 31 (just under a week after the full game comes out). Assuming you download the demo while it's live, you'll likely be able to load it up even after it's no longer available online… though you may not have much reason to, for reasons I will presently elucidate.
What is in the Resident Evil 2 demo?
The Resident Evil 2 demo serves up a relatively early portion of the game as rookie cop Leon Kennedy arrives at the Raccoon City Police Station. With a city's worth of lurching ghouls at the gates, Leon's safer inside than out… but not by much. Capcom says you'll have a certain mission objective to complete and you're free to start the demo over again if you accomplish it or die horribly. Whatever you do, an in-game timer will constantly tick down from 30 minutes. A new cinematic trailer will play at the end of your time and then that's it.
Wait, is the Resident Evil 2 demo really just 'one shot'?
Even if you exit and restart it, the Resident Evil 2 demo will remember how much time you've spent in game. If your 30 minutes are up, you can't play any more (though you can watch the trailer you unlock at the end as many times as you want). I'm not sure how this limitation may be affected by uninstalling and reinstalling or simply switching user accounts, but the idea is to give you a 30 minute teaser and leave it at that.
How can I get the Resident Evil 2 demo?
The Resident Evil 2 demo will be a free download on PC (via Steam), PS4, and Xbox One from January 11 to 31. Just pull up your platform's digital storefront, search for Resident Evil 2, and you should find it. Capcom hasn't revealed how much storage space you'll need for the download; the full game's approximate size is listed as 21.07GB on the Microsoft Store, so it shouldn't be any bigger than that.

Besides the zombie population (which is much more diverse than the original, including teenage girl zombies, maniac cop zombies, and even melting naked zombies), Claire and Leon will also have to deal with a variety of freakish mutants including giant poisonous spiders, walking venus-fly-traps, and speedy wall-crawling Lickers. Each character will also be pursued by one seemingly unstoppable foe: a horrific and constantly evolving man-monster known as the 'G-Type' (Leon's Scenario) , or a taciturn but inhumanly powerful Umbrella agent who is nonetheless saddled with the rather quaint name of Mr. X (Claire's Scenario).
Like the previous game in the series, Resident Evil 2 is a 3D action-adventure using three-dimensional polygon characters over two-dimensional pre-rendered backgrounds, with the action viewed through a variety of cinematic fixed camera angles in each room. Just like the original Resident Evil, players can choose to play as one of two possible characters. Each character goes through the same initial scenario, but with differences in the type of weaponry they find and the people they meet along the way. Leon will team up with a mysterious woman calling herself Ada Wong, while Claire will find herself charged with protecting a little girl named Sherry Birkin.
Unlike the original Resident Evil, beating the game for the first time unlocks a second scenario to be played with the character you didn't choose, with new locations, maps, enemies, a longer and more climactic ending. Your actions in the first scenario can also affect the outcome of certain events in the second scenario. Additionally ammo and healing items are more plentiful than in the original game, although you still aren't given enough bullets to kill every enemy you meet.
